Dollars for Scholars® Holding 50th Anniversary Regional Conferences in San Diego and Los Angeles

MINNEAPOLIS, March 17, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Scholarship America®, in collaboration with California Dollars for Scholars®, will host two regional conferences in California for local Dollars for Scholars volunteers. The first conference will be held at the University of San Diego on March 26 from 10 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. A second regional conference will be in Los Angeles at California Lutheran University on April 23. Similar conferences are being held for chapter volunteers in Dollars for Scholars regions across the country, in honor of the organization's 50th anniversary.

The conferences will bring Dollars for Scholars volunteers together to collaborate and share ideas about succession planning and board development, technology tools for chapters, and fundraising. Volunteers can take what they've learned at the conference back to their chapters and continue the great work that they are doing to help students achieve the dream of going to college.

Volunteers will also have the opportunity to hear Scholarship America's president and CEO, Lauren Segal, speak about the future of Dollars for Scholars.
