MILWAUKEE, May 10, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Dohmen today announced the appointment of Joe Nolan to President of Dohmen Life Science Services (DLSS), effective immediately. Nolan joins DLSS with more than 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, most recently serving as Chief Commercial Officer and Senior Vice President of Marathon Pharmaceuticals, a rare disease treatment company, and earlier as Chief Commercial Officer at Lundbeck, Inc., a global pharmaceutical company specialized in brain diseases.
Dohmen's Chief Executive Officer Cynthia LaConte, who launched DLSS in 2014, began a national search for the position in 2015, looking for product commercialization expertise within the rare disease space.
"We built DLSS because we believed industry shifts in precision medicine, healthcare consumerism and empowering technology, would create demand for a new life sciences services model. We placed the right bet, because we've seen incredible growth in this division over the last two years," said LaConte. "And the success we've seen is directly attributable to our commitment to assembling the very best talent. We've invested in industry experts from scores of great companies like Genzyme, Abbott and AstraZeneca. Joe's leadership experience within rare disease not only brings incredible expertise to our clients, but his patient-centric perspective makes him an ideal cultural match to lead our next phase of growth."
Nolan will oversee Dohmen's DLSS division, a one-stop-shop for drug and device companies to access capability ranging from compliance services, channel supply support, revenue cycle management and direct to patient care.
"I've built my career on the belief that patients come first. But I also understand the challenges life science companies face in trying to get their drug or device into a patient's hands. Finding the right expertise at the right time in a product's development life cycle can be distracting and difficult for companies that want to stay focused on bringing great products to market and building strong patient relationships. The DLSS model offers the industry a single resource to stay lean, act fast, mitigate risk and keep growing," said Joe Nolan, President, DLSS. "Everyone wins – especially patients. After all, that's why we joined this industry in the first place."
Prior to his roles at Marathon and Lundbeck, Joe's global pharmaceutical expertise includes leadership positions at Takeda Pharmaceuticals, Abbott Laboratories/Hospira, TAP Pharmaceuticals, Schering-Plough and Walgreens.
Nolan earned a Master in Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame and a Bachelor of Science, Finance, from Tulane University.
