WILTON, Conn. and BARCELONA, Spain, Jan. 20, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Chris Onthank, founder of Dog Gone Smart Pet Products, a global pet products company dedicated to natural pet safety and health through nanotechnology, will be part of a distinguished panel at the Global PETS Forum 2011. Hosted by 25-year-old PETS International magazine, the Forum will be held in Barcelona, Spain, January 27-28, 2011. Now in its 12th year, it is the preeminent pet industry event where the world's most innovative trends will be showcased to more than 200 attendees.
During the prestigious two-day event, Onthank will discuss and demonstrate Dog Gone Smart technology and specifically its revolutionary and unsurpassed repellency and abrasion resistant qualities for pet beds, apparel and horse wear. He will also expand on non-silver-based bacteriostatic, a proprietary technology he developed that inhibits the spread of bacteria that can cause 'doggy' odor, which is better for the environment and safer for pets. Dog Gone Smart is the global licensee of NanoSphere® fabric finish technology for the pet industry from Schoeller Textil AG based in Switzerland.
"Global PETS Forum is an ideal platform to demonstrate the global appeal and potential for nanotechnology-based pet products," Onthank said. He added, "We are also honored to be recognized as one of four nominees for the highly prestigious Innovation award." The Innovation award is given each year to a company that demonstrates exceptional growth and progress in the pet industry.
Dog Gone Smart state-of-the-art pet products are available in a variety of styles, sizes and colors that complement any dog breed, lifestyle, and home decor. Dog Gone Smart™ nanotechnology is impregnated into the fabric without altering the fabric texture and feel, producing a non-visible structured textile surface that coat oil, dirt, and liquids cannot stick to. Residue can easily be rinsed off with water or machine washed. The fabric stands up to frequent washing and is highly abrasion resistant. It carries the label "bluesign® approved" which is based on the world's strictest EHS (environment, health and safety) stipulations for textiles.
