Dodge & Cox Funds Appoints New Independent Trustee
SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Dodge & Cox announced today the appointment of a new Independent Trustee to the Dodge & Cox Funds Board of Trustees. Admiral Gary Roughead, USN (Ret.) became a Trustee on December 17, 2013.
Admiral Roughead is currently the Annenberg Distinguished Visiting Fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University. A graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, he served with the U.S. Navy from 1973 until his retirement from active duty in 2011, and in 2007 was appointed as the twenty-ninth Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) and a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Admiral Roughead served as commandant of the United States Naval Academy; the Department of the Navy's chief of legislative affairs; and deputy commander, U.S. Pacific Command. Admiral Roughead currently serves on the Northrop Grumman and Theranos, Inc. boards.
Admiral Roughead (62) joins five current Independent Trustees of the Dodge & Cox Funds Board of Trustees. Those five incumbent Independent Trustees are L. Dale Crandall (71), Trustee since 1999; Thomas A. Larsen (63), Trustee since 2002; Ann Mather (53), Trustee since 2011; Robert B. Morris III (60), Trustee since 2011; and John B. Taylor (66), Trustee since 2005. With the appointment of Admiral Roughead, the Board will consist of nine Trustees (six Independent and three executive Trustees). Each Trustee serves for an indefinite term.
The Dodge & Cox Funds Board of Trustees oversees all Funds in the Dodge & Cox Funds complex: Dodge & Cox Stock Fund, Dodge & Cox Global Stock Fund, Dodge & Cox International Stock Fund, Dodge & Cox Income Fund, and Dodge & Cox Balanced Fund.
