DOD Agency Recognizes EODT For Supporting Military With Seven Seals Award
LENOIR CITY, Tenn., Feb. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- EOD Technology, Inc. (EODT) has been awarded the Seven Seals Award by the Tennessee chapter of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) for supporting active Guardsmen of the 278th Armored Cavalry Regiment. The Seven Seals Award is presented to individuals and organizations whose actions confirm their support for the National Guard and Reserve.
"The support demonstrated by EOD Technology for the men and women who serve in the National Guard and Reserve reflects their understanding and appreciation for the sacrifices made by our Warrior Citizens who serve this country so well," said John Dyess, Area Chairman for the Tennessee ESGR Committee. "This company is a shining example of a business supporting the National Guard and Reserve forces. I hope many others follow their lead."
With the 278th ACR about to deploy, EODT donated its holiday party and organized a deployment send-off party. Following the event, the 278th ACR mobilized to Camp Shelby, Mississippi for pre-deployment training in December and will continue on to Iraq for their second tour in February. In attendance were more than 300 National Guardsmen, as well as GEN B.B. Bell (Ret.), former commander of the 8th Army in Korea and a native Tennessean. GEN Bell addressed the 278th ACR about the critical role they will play as Iraq continues to stabilize, and saluted their sacrifice as well as those of their families in fulfilling this mission.
"We felt it was more in keeping with the spirit of the season to give the party to the men and women of the 278th who will be going into harm's way," commented EODT President and CEO Matt Kaye on the decision to donate the company's holiday party. "We appreciate being recognized by the ESGR for a gesture that is so small in comparison to the sacrifices made by the men and women deploying."
