Documentary Channel Announces The 2011 "Best of DOC" Programming Line-Up Airing Every Night This December
Public Invited to Vote for 2011 "Audience Award" and Participate in "Best of DOC" Sweepstakes
NASHVILLE, Tenn., Nov. 15, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Documentary Channel (DOC) will proudly recognize its top documentary film premieres of the year with the 2011 "Best of DOC" line-up, showcasing one film every evening throughout December. Beginning December 1 with the moving Oscar® nominee "Operation Homecoming" (8 p.m. ET/PT), this diverse list of 31 films was voted into the line-up by Documentary Channel staff and includes a stellar selection of Academy Award nominated documentaries, film festival favorites and other noteworthy documentary films from the year.
An annual tradition at Documentary Channel, the "Best of DOC" celebration includes a special online sweepstakes giving the general public a chance to vote for Documentary Channel's 2011 Audience Award and be eligible to win one of a wide variety of prizes for participating, including iPads, a BOSE CineMate System, Sony Bloggie Camcorders, "Best of DOC" DVD packages and more. In addition, a "Best of DOC" Jury Award will be announced for the top film as voted on by a Documentary Channel jury.
Hosted at www.DocumentaryChannel.com/bestofdoc, the 2011 "Best of DOC" sweepstakes begins December 1, 2011 at 9 a.m. ET and ends January 5, 2012 at 4:59 p.m. ET. Participants must be 18 or older, and may enter a maximum of one time per day. A total of 45 winners will be selected through a random drawing on or around January 10, 2012 with winners to be notified starting January 14, 2012. A final list of winners will be posted on the Documentary Channel website in February 2012.
