Doctoral Student at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology to Serve Executive Council of the Association for Behavior Analysis International

LOS ANGELES, June 22 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Antonio Harrison, a doctoral student in the Applied Behavior Analysis Psy.D. program at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology (TCSPP) in Los Angeles has been elected to the coveted position of Student Representative to the Executive Council of the Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABAI). Harrison will serve a term from 2010 to 2013, and will be one of seven voting members on ABAI policies which directly influence research, education and practice-related issues for behavior analysts around the world.

The ABAI is the primary professional organization for members interested in the philosophy, science, application and teaching of behavior analysis. Providing a forum for global education and exchange of ideas among professionals in the field, the ABAI and affiliate members have nearly 13,500 members. Harrison was one of two final nominees for the position and was elected by voting members from around the world.

Harrison is in the second year of his doctoral program at TCSPP. A former elementary school teacher, he is a full-time student, a football coach and a new father. Harrison's current research involves the evaluation of effective teaching practices to improve athletic performance in high school players. His goal is to become a sports psychologist for professional athletes.
