Doctor Opens Clinic to Counteract Unregulated Beauticians Offering Aesthetic Treatments

Dr Simran Deo, a GP in Berkshire, launched her medical skin clinic True Tone Aesthetics, last month, to offer safe, clinically regulated skin treatments to the public.

Currently in the UK, unlike in Europe and America, Aesthetic procedures can be carried out by doctors and beauticians alike, with only doctors being monitored and regulated for administering identical treatments. Social media and TV programs have recently highlighted the increasing risks of unregulated cosmetic treatments, causing a demand for increased monitoring and introduction of guidance in the Aesthetic arena.

Dr Simran a fully registered General Practitioner, completed her MBBS from the University of London in 2006. During her time at medical school, her passion for skin care and Aesthetics was evident, undertaking further projects in various Aesthetic and Plastic Surgery departments around the world. She also undertook a BSc in Pharmacology, where her dissertation looked at the release of inflammatory markers in burns patients. Following completion of her General Practice training, she went on to complete a Diploma in Dermatology, from Cardiff University, as well as taking a year out abroad, to study Aesthetic techniques more extensively.

The True Tone Aesthetics Clinic aims to offer clinically researched, safe aesthetic treatments in a CQC approved, clinical environment, administered by a fully insured, fully trained medical doctor, who can clearly explain the risks of all the treatments given.
