SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 30, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Docker announced the expansion of its leadership team with the appointment of three software industry veterans to meet the growing demand for Docker Enterprise. Kal De, former senior VP of Product Development for VMware's Cloud Management Business Unit, has been appointed Chief Technology Officer, Neil Charney, former Senior VP of Marketing for the Cloud Business Networks Group at SAP has been named Chief Marketing Officer, and Melanie Morgan, former Senior VP and Chief Legal Officer of SAP Concur has joined as General Counsel.
The new additions to the leadership team come on the heels of a successful first half of its fiscal year, with the company now surpassing over 650 Docker Enterprise customers worldwide and recently being recognized as a "Leader" in the Forrester New Wave™: Enterprise Container Platform Software Suites, Q4 2018 report. As companies increasingly turn to Docker Enterprise to drive application modernization and cloud migration, each executive brings their unique expertise to steer the company through its enterprise expansion and continued growth.

Kal brings more than 18 years of experience leading global software development organizations, most recently leading product development for the Cloud Management Business Unit at VMware, where he was instrumental in helping grow the business from inception to $1.5B+ in revenue.
In the role of CMO, Neil Charney will be responsible for Docker's global marketing functions, including product marketing, corporate marketing, demand generation and brand. Charney has over 20 years of experience in developer and enterprise marketing, most recently as Senior VP of Marketing for the Cloud Business Networks Group at SAP, where he led marketing efforts across SAP's cloud solutions. Prior to SAP, Charney was a general manager at Microsoft where he worked across Developer, Enterprise, Windows and platform strategy teams.
To further support the rapid expansion of Docker's customer base and presence worldwide, Melanie Morgan joins Docker as General Counsel, where she will oversee all of the company's global legal affairs. Morgan brings nearly 20 years of legal experience most recently at SAP Concur, where she served as the Senior VP and Chief Legal Officer.
