Do you have what it takes to be L'Oréal Paris' next makeup designer?
L'Oréal Paris Canada kicks-off national makeup designer search today, as part of the brand's first-ever international makeup designer competition – #TheBrushContest
MONTREAL, Jan. 19, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - L'Oréal Paris proudly announces The Brush Contest, the world's first ever international makeup designer contest happening exclusively on YouTube. The contest will gather contestants from 13 countries including Canada, USA, France, UK, Australia, Germany, Thailand, Italy and Turkey.
The winner of this illustrious, four-month international contest will receive the coveted title of L'Oréal Paris' Makeup Designer and a one-year makeup contract with the brand valued at 100,000€. Plus they will go behind-the-scenes as one of the brand's official Makeup Designers for the 68th annual Cannes International Film Festival and have the opportunity to work with some of L'Oréal Paris' celebrity beauty ambassadors.
Throughout the selection process of the competition, L'Oréal Paris' beauty ambassadors such as Doutzen Kroes, Lara Stone, Barbara Palvin and Karlie Kloss will cheer on contestants by sharing their own personal news, videos, and pictures on the contest's YouTube platform and their own social media sites.
L'Oréal Paris' cutting-edge beauty app that serves as a virtual mirror, #MakeupGenius will also showcase exclusive looks from the competition, offering insights into the contestants' colour expertise and highlighting bold looks dreamt up by L'Oréal Paris' Makeup Designers.
Canadian Contest
Canada's national search for a Makeup Designer to represent Canadian talent at the global competition officially kicks-off today. Contestants are invited to create video tutorials (3 minutes or less) revealing a full makeup look inspired by the theme "Colour Clash". Once completed, videos should be submitted to L'Oréal Paris Canada "The Brush Contest" YouTube page at thebrushcontest.com where more entry information is available.
The Brush Contest is open to professionals, amateurs, bloggers, vloggers and YouTubers. Just two rules apply: you have to be a true beauty junkie and be at least 18 years old.
Between now and February 15, the public will vote for their top 50 videos at thebrushcontest.com. The most popular videos will be judged by L'Oréal Paris Canada's elite jury panel featuring Mélanie Frappa, Editor-in-Chief of Elle Québec, Danielle Graham, co-Anchor of CTV's etalk and Eddie Malter, Official Makeup Artist for L'Oréal Paris Canada, who will announce the top five videos on March 8, followed by the announcement of the Canadian winner on March 23.
The Canadian Makeup Designer contest winner will have a front row seat at the hottest beauty event of the year: the live Grand Finale broadcast from Paris on YouTube on May 1, 2015. At this event, the Canadian winner will compete for the global title after participating in a boot camp for all national winners, mentored by the brand's colour experts to explore new creative fields and experience beauty in the making. The May 1 star-studded evening – hosted by none other than L'Oréal Paris star spokesperson, Eva Longoria – will celebrate L'Oréal Paris' passion for colour and its makeup designer edge.
