DMVA to Hold Public Meeting on Sale of Ridgway Armory and Weekend Training Site

Officials to Explain the Sales Process to Interested Buyers

HARRISBURG, Pa., July 11, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs will hold a public information meeting to discuss the future sale of the Ridgway Armory and the Ridgway Weekend Training Site from 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, July 15, at the Ridgway Municipal Building, 108 Main St., Ridgway.

DMVA staff will explain the process for disposing of state armories and answer any questions. They will provide information about the advantages of acquiring armory property under a historic preservation covenant.

The public information meeting is being held in advance of the upcoming sale of the former PA National Guard Armory located at 72 N. Broad St., Ridgway, and a weekend training site located at 5509 Grant Road, Ridgway.

The Department of General Services will sell these properties for fair market value by competitive bids in the coming months.
