DMVA, PA Veterans Foundation hosting 2013 Women Veterans Symposium

HARRISBURG, Pa., Dec. 13, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Pennsylvania female service members and veterans of all military branches and components are invited to attend the PA Women Veterans Symposium slated for March 8-10, 2013 at the Wyndham Hotel, Gettysburg, Adams County. 

This first-time event, co-hosted by the Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs and the Pennsylvania Veterans Foundation, will feature informative general and breakout sessions, a health and wellness fair, and an opportunity to meet and network with fellow female veterans.

"Women have become the fastest growing population within the veteran community yet many of them don't think they are eligible for VA benefits," Brig. Gen. Mike Gould, the state's deputy adjutant general for veterans' affairs, said. "Our goal for the symposium is to address the unique needs of Pennsylvania's female veterans and give them the tools they need to transition back to civilian life."

The symposium costs $10 which includes meals, hotel room and the symposium.
