DMI Wins $7 Million Contract to Extend Support for U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Operations Center Information and Management System (OCIMS)
Contract Affirms Five-Year History of Exceptional Performance
BETHESDA, Md., June 15, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- DMI (www.DMInc.com), a leading IT solutions and business strategy consulting firm, announced today that it has won a $7M Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) to provide operations and management support services to the Operations Center Information and Management System (OCIMS).
The NRC Operations Center is the principal hub for communication and coordination of the NRC's response to operating events involving nuclear reactors or materials. As the Operations Center's primary means of creating, storing, sending and retrieving information, OCIMS supports NRC's vital role providing national and international information distribution and decision support in the event of emergency.
Earlier this year, in response to the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station crisis in Japan, the NRC activated its Maryland-based Operations Center to closely monitor and advise on the situation. DMI IT support staff at the Operations Center provided vital support, manning operations on a 24-hour basis.
DMI's award is an affirmation of a five-year history of exemplary service in delivering high quality operations and maintenance to the NRC. Under the contract, DMI will continue to provide daily support for the systems, equipment, hardware, and software required to ensure continuous OCIMS system operation. As part of this support structure, DMI will supply the NRC with services in the areas of Project Management, database support, day-to-day operations, and 24/7 on-call support.
DMI's role with the OCIMS is extended under this contract to include cybersecurity support, an updated system to track and manage maintenance requests using Microsoft SharePoint, implementation of additional processes to adhere to ISO 9001 standards, and development of an Electronic and Information Technology (EIT) equipment management plan.
