BETHESDA, Md., July 7, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Mobile devices in the workplace are transforming the enterprise. Infrastructure and operations (I&O) executives are tasked with establishing strategies to address the ten elements of mobile device life-cycle management. Today, Digital Management, Inc. (DMI) announced that it has been named by Forrester Research Inc. to provide full support for all ten core mobile device life-cycle services. The report notes, "I&O executives must assess their firms' current ability to address the 10 elements of mobile device life-cycle management services including overall strategy, device configuration and management, help desk support, and device depot capabilities."
- DMI named one of five vendors to provide complete services: The report states, "In addition to the basic mobility and security assessments, DMI's suite includes a considerable set of consulting services, particularly customer experience strategy and production innovation. Deployment services include creation and maintenance of gold images, over-the-air or hands-on provisioning, staging, configuration and shipping of devices to users. Aside from providing device purchasing and procurement, its Mobile Control Center uses integration with external help desk and procurement management systems to store data at scheduled intervals to create customizable dashboards and reporting."
- Report recommends a strategic design and application approach: The report focused on device-centric services. However, it stated that DMI and others are examples of vendors that also provide a wide variety of application services from simple application support to custom application development. The report stated, "It is important to ensure that vendors have experience in developing applications for the operating systems you use and for specific apps that your firm needs, such as field services, enterprise resource planning, business intelligence or customer support…. If you have the need for application-related services, make sure that those requirements are also built into your request for proposal or vendor evaluation."
Jay Sunny Bajaj, DMI founder and CEO, said:
"The explosion in the use of smartphones, tablets and other smart devices by employees at work continues to challenge enterprise IT organizations. Sorting out how to track, manage and secure thousands of new devices and apps—some corporate-owned and some employee-owned—requires mastery of a dizzying array of mobile devices, operating systems and management systems, all of which are evolving at a feverish pace. We have developed an end-to-end solution to assist our customers in overcoming the mobile challenges of today and being prepared for the evolution of tomorrow's devices."
