Xilinx, Inc. Analyst Notes
On March 5, 2014, Xilinx, Inc. (Xilinx) announced the pricing of public offering amounting to $1.0 billion aggregate principal amount of its senior unsecured notes. Of these notes, $500 million will mature on March 15, 2019 - offered at a par price of 99.477%, and the remaining will mature on March 15, 2021 - offered at a par price of 99.281%, with coupon rates of 2.125% and 3.000%, respectively. The Company expected to receive approximately $991.8 million after deducting underwriting discounts, and the net proceeds will be used to pay a substantial portion of the redemption and/or conversion price of 3.125% Junior Subordinated Convertible Debentures due 2037 redeemable by Xilinx on March 17, 2014. Analog Devices, Inc. Analyst Notes
On February 18, 2014, Analog Devices, Inc. (Analog Devices) reported its Q1 FY 2014 financial results (period ended February 1, 2014). Revenues for Q1 FY 2014 jumped 1.0% YoY to $628.2 million, while it was down 7.4% on a sequential basis. Net income for the quarter was $152.6 million or $0.48 per diluted share, compared to $131.2 million or $0.42 per diluted share in Q1 FY 2013. Vincent Roche, President and CEO, Analog Devices, said, "In January, order rates began to improve. We ended the quarter with a book to bill that was above one and we expect this momentum to continue in the second quarter. We are planning for revenue growth and solid operating leverage in the second quarter on improving factory utilization and a good mix of business." On February 26, 2014, RF Micro Devices, Inc. (RF Micro) further expanded its portfolio of antenna control solutions (ACS) by adding multiple new products. The new products include the RF1149 - a low on-resistance single pole quadruple throw (SP4T) routing switch which helps improve link quality and data throughput; the RF1141A - a rugged, low loss single pole double throw (SPDT) antenna tuner; the RF1107/8/9 - a family of programmable tuners optimized for radiated efficiency of all active bands in multi-band LTE mobile devices; and the RF1155 - the successor to the Company's recently announced first generation impedance tuner, the RF1105. The Company further informed that both the RF1105 and RF1155 optimize power transfer to the antenna, while the RF1155 adds advanced carrier aggregation capabilities.
