Display Week 2015 Sets Sights On Silicon Valley To Show Global Technology Hub The Future Of The Display World
Future Generations of Large Curved TVs, Automotive Displays, Wearables and Mobile Devices Take Center Stage at San Jose Convention Center Starting May 31
CAMPBELL, Calif., March 5, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Society for Information Display (SID) today announced its final program lineup for Display Week 2015, set for May 31-June 5 at the San Jose Convention Center. Display Week 2015 showcases the latest display innovations: from the world's largest TVs down to the coolest displays for mobile devices; the newest flexible, wearable and touch technologies; new breakthroughs in next-generation vehicular displays; and even the latest in imaging and lighting.
"The face of almost every electronic product today is a display, so the future of displays is also the future of most types of electronic devices. There is no better show in the world than Display Week to see in-depth coverage of this future," noted SID President, Amal Ghosh. "Display Week is the premier showcase event for the $100 billion display industry, and its North American location is ideal for connecting the display supply chain with the integrators and business leaders that drive the worldwide electronics marketplace. Silicon Valley—which is synonymous with technological advancement— is the ideal setting for this year's event," he added.
In years past, Display Week has provided the world's first look at the display innovations that powered such household-name products as the Amazon Kindle, the Apple iPad, the Samsung Galaxy S Smartphone and the Sharp 108-inch AQUOS TV. The most exciting recent display developments have also debuted at Display Week, such as curved OLED TVs, advanced touch screens, haptic feedback devices, electronic paper, quantum dot displays and other disruptive materials and technologies. This year, wearables are sure to be a hit, as health and fitness products with wearable displays are showing up everywhere.
This year's show adds a dedicated focus on vehicle-based displays, fitting nicely with some of the automotive developments emerging from Silicon Valley. Displays are a key component in enabling cars to communicate to their drivers, to their passengers and even to other vehicles. Display Week will be a great forum for showcasing the latest advancements in automotive display technologies.
For product designers, Display Week is a can't-miss event—nothing beats the experience of seeing first hand the technologies that will power the displays of the future. Display Week allows designers to gain the insights they need to help enrich their product development going forward.
Display Week 2015 also serves as a venue for the business side of displays, with plenty of programming and networking opportunities for company executives, supply chain experts, investors and business development leaders. It's an ideal venue to see and demonstrate prototypes, to meet with customers and business partners, and to conduct new business.
