NEW YORK, Sept. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- The 2nd Annual AllyKatzz Tween Summit announces that the DM'ing™ (DenimMessaging™) for Change concert taking place in New York City on 10/10/10 will be hosted by Monique Coleman, currently of Gimme Mo' and best known for her role as Taylor McKessie in Disney's High School Musical movie franchise. Headlining the concert will be Disney's Friends for Change: Project Green star Mitchel Musso, whose credits include playing Brady in the new Disney XD series Pair of Kings and Oliver Oken from Disney Channel's Hannah Montana, and the voice of Jeremy in the Emmy-winning Phineas and Ferb. "We are ecstatic that Disney's Friends for Change: Project Green stars Mitchel Musso and Tiffany Thornton will be joining us for our second concert!" proclaimed Denise Restauri, founder of AK Tweens and AllyKatzz.com. "As word spreads about our message to support girls in their mission to 'Stand Up, Speak Out, and Be Heard' an incredible amount of people have reached out. Monique Coleman could not have been more gracious in lending her support. The concert attendees are going to have a 'Rockin' time!'"
The DM'ing for Change concert is FREE to all attendees of the 2nd Annual AllyKatzz Tween Summit. A select number of "concert only" tickets are available for sale at www.tweensummit.com on a first-come, first-served basis. ABOUT THE SUMMIT
On October 10th, 2010, the 2nd Annual AllyKatzz Tween Summit will welcome 250 tween girls, ages 8-14, from across the country to NYC. It begins at 8:00am at The Altman Building in Chelsea, NYC. The day will encompass keynote addresses that emphasize the importance of tweens speaking up and taking action, "Speed Meeting" with A.L.L.Y. & CertifiK.A.T. of Achievement Awardees, the Exhibit Hall featuring AllyKatzz Alley and the AllyKatzz Lab showcasing event sponsors that make the Summit possible- all offering the girls a rare opportunity to tell companies what THEY want, a chance to "Speak Up & Share" with the "Listening Panel"- a group of accomplished women from media, entertainment, fashion, sports, and politics who want to know what tweens want, and a chance to spread goodwill through DenimMessaging™- (decorating the interior pockets and waistbands of jeans with words of hope and encouragement that will then be donated to homeless tweens and teens). Then, at 7:00pm, at NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts, they'll be treated to a PINK Carpet event and the "DM'ing™ for Change!" concert.
To complement the tweens' experience- a day long Parent Track devoted to exploring topics relevant to their daughters is offered- including what girls are thinking, doing, saying (or not saying), and dreaming...
This groundbreaking day will be moderated by tween expert, AK Tweens and AllyKatzz.com founder Denise Restauri along with author, Seventeen Magazine columnist and self-esteem expert Jess Weiner.
