Diane Clark, the late co-founder and Vice President of Discovery Point, passed away in October 2012. As an educator, Clark was focused on partnering with families to meet the individual needs of each child in her care. With a focus on the "whole child", Diane ensured that each child felt safe, nurtured and cared for. The company created Diane's Devotion as a way to continue her legacy and honor her dedication to the care of young children.
"Diane understood that once emotional needs were met, children had the confidence to learn, explore and discover the world around them," recalls Cliff Clark, Diane's husband and president and CEO of Discovery Point. "With each new center, her Discovery Point mission has continued to touch the lives of children and families across the Southeast."
In past years, Discovery Point has partnered with national agencies to collect coats, books or pajamas for children in need. This year, and for the years to come, Diane's Devotion is focusing on more localized programs. Each individual center will be supporting a local food bank or similar charity in their area.
Diane's Devotion will take place at local centers from November 1-30. Centers will announce their local charity partnerships via social media and in their center.
