Discovery en Espanol Begins A New Phase Of Its 'DESCUBRE TU TALENTO' Campaign

MIAMI, March 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Discovery en Espanol is beginning a new phase of its DESCUBRE TU TALENTO campaign, launched in 2012 in collaboration with the Department of Labor to provide the Hispanic community with information about job training and opportunities.

Using real testimonials by Hispanics with successful careers in the United States, this year's campaign will focus on careers in business, technical, medical and STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) fields. The information, offered entirely in Spanish, will be available on www.descubretutalento.net, updated with sections such as "Find Your Vocation," "First Steps" (with tips for writing a CV and preparing for job interviews), and "Outstanding Careers" (including educational and training resources and salary information).  The content will also be available on the Discovery en Espanol Facebook page (facebook.com/discoveryenespanol).

The on-air campaign features inspiring testimonials by immigrants who came to this country with few resources but succeeded in their professions through hard work, self-improvement and perseverance.  They share with the audience the key to their success in a series of spots with the slogan "Your future begins now; discover your talent."  Profiles include:

• Javier, who always dreamed of having his own business. He studied mechanics and accounting and now owns a car repair shop.
• Manuel, a Salvadoran immigrant who started off volunteering in a print shop to learn basic design techniques. Little by little he learned to use computer programs and now has a base of loyal customers who entrust him with their graphic design needs.
• Antonio, a truck driver whose ambition is to be an electrician. He is currently going to night school to complete a 50-week course that will enable him to pursue his vocation.
• Saraí, a woman carpenter who had to struggle to make a space for herself in a male-dominated field. She persevered despite encounters with discrimination and now works full time in her profession.
