Discovery Bay Games Announces Three Key New Hires
SEATTLE, April 8, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Discovery Bay Games is excited to announce three key new hires: Marisa Pena, Chief Creative Officer; Colt Tipton, Senior Producer of Ideation; and Clinton Fowler, Senior Director of Mobile Product Strategy.
Marisa Pena, Chief Creative Officer, has been designing interactive entertainment for kids and families for more than 15 years; from her first CD-ROM title, Explore the Grand Canyon, to online games, websites, and community applications for kids, to first-generation mobile applications. In 2002, she followed her lifelong love of board games and joined Cranium. At Cranium, as the Senior Director of Ideation for Games, Marisa led the invention of more than two dozen award winning titles. Marisa has been working with Discovery Bay as a consultant since 2009. She holds a BA in English Literature from Stanford University.
Colt Tipton joins Discovery Bay as a Senior Producer of Ideation, working closely with Marisa. His role includes brainstorming and concepting new games, building prototypes, playtesting, developing product briefs, and working with licensors and external inventors. Over the past ten years, he's held creative roles at Microsoft, Cranium, and AT&T, focused on the youth segment. After graduating from Stanford University with a BS in Human Biology, Colt moved to Seattle and went to work for a music startup that was acquired by Microsoft.
Clinton Fowler joins the Discovery Bay team as Senior Director of Mobile Product Strategy. Prior to this, Clinton spent 10+ years at Microsoft, where in his most recent role as Senior Design Manager he led strategic design innovation projects across Microsoft's Entertainment & Devices organization. He also has extensive experience working with Xbox Live, Xbox.com, and Zune Social. Clinton graduated from Northeastern University with a BSBA in Marketing & International Business.
"These three individuals will play a key role in executing our aggressive product plans for 2011 and beyond," said Craig Olson, CEO of Discovery Bay Games. "With a wealth of knowledge and relevant experience at companies like Microsoft and Cranium, we are thrilled to have them on our team."
