Featuring nearly 50 miles of sparkling coastline and a rich culture, the enchanting Puerto Plata Province was the country's original tourism hotspot and is making exciting updates to be so once again. With the construction of Carnival Corporation's Amber Cove Cruise Center, renovation of Gregorio Luperon International Airport and an emphasis on the area's endless attraction options, the tourism industry of the North Coast is seeking to put the destination back on traveler's radars. The rebirth of the area's tourism efforts ensures that the city can accommodate the influx in visitors and cater to them with accommodations and a growing list of attractions that appeal to every taste and budget.
"The event showcased one of Dominican Republic's diverse regions to international tour operators, hotels, airlines, and more," said Magaly Toribio, Marketing Advisor for the Dominican Republic Ministry of Tourism. "The lively region is not only a one-of-a-kind playground for adventure sports like kiteboarding, off-roading and waterfall cascading, but it also has five-star hotels, a melting pot of culture and a breathtaking backdrop of mountains and turquoise waters."
Attendees enjoyed accommodations at a variety of the region's resorts, a welcome cocktail reception at Be Live Grand Marien, an evening of dancing and drinks at Brugal, and off-site excursions to visit nearby attractions such as Ocean World Adventure Park, Independence Park, Fort San Felipe, Luperon Museum and more.
