Analyst Update: New Services,Proposals,Financial Results,and Dividends

U.S. stocks tumbled on Friday as disappointing financial results of big companies weighed on investor sentiment. The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 1.54% or 279.67 points to close at 17,826.10, its worst drop since March 25; the Nasdaq fell 1.52%, or 75.98 points, to 4,931.81, and the S&P 500 closed the session at 2,081.16, down 1.1%, or 23.81 points. Among heavy weights, American Express plunged 4.4% on Friday, reflecting weaker than expected quarterly earnings. European stocks too closed lower on Friday as fear of Greek default intensifies. Notably, Germany's DAX Index dropped 2.6%, followed by France's CAC (down 1.6%), and Britain's FTSE 100 (down 0.9%). Meanwhile, Asian markets witnessed mixed trading on Friday, with China's Shanghai Composite Index reaching its highest level since March 2008, and the Nikkei closing at a lower level.
Southwest Airlines Co, on April 14, 2015, filed an application with the U.S. Department of Transportation to provide daily, nonstop service between Denver International Airport (DEN) and Lic. Gustavo Diaz Ordaz International Airport (PVR) in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, beginning in November 2015.
Talisman Energy Inc., on April 8, 2015, announced a dividend on the Company's common shares of US$0.1125 per share, to be paid on April 29, 2015 to shareholders of record at the close of business on April 20, 2015.
Halcon Resources Corp's shares edged up 9.7% on April 15, 2015 to close at $1.93 and have appreciated by more than 14% in the past four days, largely supported by surging oil prices. Moreover, the stock trading volume on Wednesday was unusually high at 8.9 million shares as compared to its fifteen day average volume of 6.4 million shares.
Viggle Inc, on March 20, 2015, confirmed that it has received a proposal from Robert F.X. Sillerman, its founder and CEO, for the acquisition of a 25% interest in the Company's Wetpaint business for an aggregate consideration of $10 million in cash.
Itau Unibanco Holding SA announced that at the meeting held on March 26, 2015, its Board of Directors registered a proposal for resolution at the Extraordinary General Meeting to be held on April 29, 2015. The main highlights of the proposal include: increase in subscribed and paid in capital stock in the amount of BLR 10.2 billion, taking the total capital stock to BRL 85.2 billion; and increase in authorized capital limit in the same proportion as the share bonus proposed such that the Company is authorized to increase the capital stock upon the decision of the Board of Directors.
