NASHVILLE, Tenn., March 19, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Direct General Corporation today announced that it has selected MediaCom USA as its new media agency of record.
The announcement comes as Direct General, a leading provider of personal auto insurance, life insurance and vehicle and accident protection plans, prepares to launch the second wave of spots tied to its new advertising campaign; Be Directsm centers on the company's long-standing spokesperson, JJ Hightail, communicating the straight-talking, no-nonsense treatment consumers can expect when they choose Direct General.
The refreshed creative direction was developed in partnership with the company's creative partner, Occam Marketing, and MediaCom will manage media strategy and buying via all communications channels including TV, radio, outdoor, print and digital.

Annual media spending is estimated at $20 million. Prior to the appointment of both MediaCom and Occam, Cramer-Krasselt had handled creative and media for the client since 2009.
