NEEDHAM, Mass., April 16, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Direct Federal Credit Union is sponsoring a book drive for the month of April in conjunction with the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless and the Community Hope Initiative. Direct Federal joins credit unions across Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island to help children of all ages gain knowledge and succeed in school through reading.
Members and the public are invited to drop off new and gently used books for all reading levels through April 30th at the Needham Branch, Monday through Saturday. The branch is located at 50 Cabot Street in Needham, exit 19 off Route 128.
The books will be donated to children in the area through the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless, a group which works to eradicate homelessness through prevention, education, and direct service across Massachusetts, in cooperation with the Community Hope Initiative. Since 2001, the groups have collected over 250,000 books and donated them to children in need.
