HOUSTON, Oct. 29, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Direct Energy has launched its new, customer friendly mobile application substantially increasing and enhancing the company's ability to interact with its customers in the mobile environment. The app is the company's first.

The smartphone app, offered on both the Apple iOS and Google Android platforms, provides added functionality and convenience for Direct Energy's customers. It allows Direct Energy's customers to view their account balance, check their electricity usage, make payments, update their account information, find home services locations and contact the company via the app. Customers who have multiple accounts with Direct Energy will also be able to manage all of them in one place.
For potential and future customers, the app also has been developed to allow them to sign up for new service.

The ability to engage on the app also extends to the user's contacts. The app accesses the contacts encouraging the user take part in Direct Energy's referral program, where they can receive credits on their energy bill for referring their friends to Direct Energy.
