BCOP certified pharmacists are increasingly recognized for their specialized training, knowledge, and skills in oncology practice. This is critical given the increasing number and complexity of drug therapies for oncology patients and the future drug pipeline. Procailo is one of about 1,900 oncology pharmacists in the nation who hold this certification.
Procailo is the clinical oncology manager within the Clinical Services Department at Diplomat. She maintains therapeutic and medication protocols/decision tools, drives policy and procedural development, and provides clinical support for all oncology initiatives.
"We are proud of Dr. Procailo's accomplishment," said Gary Rice, senior vice president of Clinical Services, Education and Human Resources at Diplomat. "She brings additional knowledge and experience to the Diplomat oncology team that will ultimately improve patient care initiatives and programs."
Procailo began her career at the University of Michigan Health System (UMHS) as an infusion staff pharmacist. During her six-plus years at UMHS, she served with the anemia management program, the oral oncolytic program and the cancer center orders team, then served as the lead infusion pharmacist for the health system's cancer center, overseeing operations.
Procailo serves on the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy Board of Governors and is a member of the Hematology and Oncology Pharmacists Association and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
