Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy Promotes Steven Miesowicz to Vice President, Human Resources, Planning and Government Relations
FLINT, Mich., Nov. 22, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy, the nation's largest privately owned specialty pharmacy, announced today the promotion of Steven Miesowicz to Vice President, Human Resources, Planning and Government Relations.
Mr. Miesowicz previously served as the Diplomat's Senior Director of Human Resources and as a business management consultant where he played a primary role in securing the Michigan Economic Growth Authority (MEGA) tax credit Diplomat received from the state of Michigan for $61.5 million and $14 million from Career Alliance, Inc. for workforce training. He will report directly to Phil Hagerman, President and CEO.
In his new role as Vice President, Mr. Miesowicz will be responsible for:
- All aspects of Human Resources.
- Supporting all areas of Diplomat's strategic planning process as the company builds its industry leadership in terms of service, reputation and profits.
- Organizational development; planning and implementing changes needed to support Diplomat's growth.
- Leading acquisition teams as required.
- Working with all local, state and federal governmental agencies to advance Diplomat's ability to grow and receive incentives.

The hiring of Mr. Miesowicz comes at a time when specialty pharmacy, and Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy in particular, is experiencing explosive growth. In April, Diplomat announced plans to add 1,000 new jobs over the next five years and the imminent relocation of its headquarters to a 340,000 square foot facility in Flint, Michigan. Diplomat anticipates making $12 million in investments over the next several years in its new headquarters, which is part of the Great Lake Technology Centre. Plans include a new advanced distribution hub to control Diplomat's nationwide network, an advanced specialty pharmacy compounding laboratory to serve the nation, a new industry training and education center, a high technology software development and data center, and a national patient call center.
Mr. Miesowicz previously served the health care, aviation, and automotive industries in a wide variety of leadership positions including Human Resources, Manufacturing Management, Financial Management, Product Development and Program Management. He currently serves on the board of directors for a privately held manufacturing company headquartered in Michigan. He has also served as Treasurer and on the board of trustees for the Michigan Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and taught mathematics at Schoolcraft College in Livonia, Michigan. Mr. Miesowicz holds an engineering degree from the University of Michigan.
