FLINT, Mich., May 23, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --Diplomat Pharmacy, Inc. (NYSE: DPLO) announced today the start of the third annual Fellowship and Internship programs. The hands-on learning experience is a 12-week summer program, May 23–Aug. 12.
The full-time, paid Fellowship and Internship programs bring participants to Flint, Michigan. Fellows and interns are provided optional housing free of charge through Diplomat in downtown Flint at the Riverfront Residence Hall to foster communication and collaboration among the separate programs.
The programs bring together students for a unique summer immersion designed to help interns and Fellows gain valuable professional practice offered through hands-on experience, community introductions, alumni connections and group housing.

"The innovative programs provide Fellows and interns a truly immersive urban experience, including the provision of housing in downtown Flint to spur and inspire social innovation among participants."
The Fellowship allows students to take on an important social challenge and launch a project to help solve it. The program encourages students who are interested in research related to their concentration to pursue their studies over the course of the summer while developing professional experience in the workplace.
Fellows for the 2016 cohort will be coming to Flint from universities across the country including Spelman College, Cornell, Duke, Emory and New York University in addition to in-state institutions Michigan State University, Northwood University and the University of Michigan.
The Fellow's areas of interest include: youth literacy, access to healthy foods, neighborhood revitalization, mentorship programs, public health, the disability labor law and environmental sustainability and research
The Fellowship is an extra-curricular program for which Fellows do not gain course credit. However, a certificate of achievement will be provided.
This summer, Diplomat has expanded its Internship Program to 34 participants.
