FRAMINGHAM, Mass., Aug. 20, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Dimension Data, the $6 billion global ICT services and solutions provider, today announced that Global Business Development Director Rich Schofield has been named to the Computing Technology Industry Association's (CompTIA's) Partner Advisory Council. A non-profit trade association, CompTIA is the voice of the world's information technology industry, dedicated to advancing the interests of IT professionals and channel organizations, while enabling them to be more successful – through education, certifications, resources and networking opportunities with industry-leading experts.
In his role on the Partner Advisory Council, Schofield will provide strategic, near-term insights on issues and trends affecting the IT channel. The Partner Advisory Council is an invitation-only group and well-regarded think-tank – presenting ideas and initiatives to the CompTIA staff to improve and grow business for the global IT industry.
"Our Partner Advisory Council includes a diverse group of executives, each with their own expertise, knowledge and perspective on the challenges and issues facing the IT channel," said Annette Taber, CompTIA's vice president of channel strategies. "This level of diversity ensures that the recommendations and solutions the council proposes will be relevant for all channel companies – vendors, distributors and solution providers alike. The addition of Rich Schofield will bring great value to our members and the IT channel community, based on his proven experience and deep expertise."
Schofield joined Dimension Data in 2000, when the Group acquired DataComm Systems, where Schofield had served since 1987. In addition to his current role as global business development director, Schofield has also served as director of business development for Dimension Data's North American and global managed services businesses. He is a member of Dimension Data's Hall of Fame, which honors employees who have achieved the highest levels of recognition, not only for their technical expertise and status, but also as established leaders in their field of technology.
Schofield said: "I look forward to working with CompTIA's Partner Advisory Council to share best practices and strategies, and develop educational programs that equip channel professionals and our industry at large for greater success."
