OPAL-RT also works with a network of local distributors throughout the Asian territory.  Benoit Marcoux, Channel Manager at OPAL-RT, is in charge of business development in the following key Asian countries: China, Korea, Taiwan and Singapore/Malaysia.

One of the main reasons for OPAL-RT's success is that it has established a strong relationship with a key distributor in China, since 2002, with a company called KELIANG.  Because of the collaboration with KELIANG, OPAL-RT won several transmission real-time simulator projects in China over the last few years involving the simulation of Multi-Modular Voltage source HVDC converters used in modern power systems.  Among them, OPAL-RT delivered the world's largest eMEGAsim simulatorin 2011.  This sale and all the subsequent ones, confirm OPAL-RT's position as the power system and power electronics MMC real-time simulator leader in China.

As for the Chinese automotive market, OPAL-RT also works with a partner in the automotive field; Eontronix Co. Ltd., founded in 2003 and based in Beijing. 

In Taiwan, OPAL-RT products are marketed by CYBERNET Systems Taiwan, a subsidiary of CYBERNET Systems Co. Ltd. in Japan. In Japan, OPAL-RT has been collaborating with NEAT Co Ltd for 10 years. In Malaysia and Singapore, OPAL-RT distributes its products through TME Systems Ltd. which has a regional presence in both countries. In South Korea, OPAL-RT collaborates with Shinho Systems Ltd.  

OPAL-RT is setting its goal for 2014: to supply all customers in Asia with brand new OP4500 simulators. The OP4500 is in line with OPAL-RT's mission: to democratize real-time simulation without compromising on performance.  It is the first real-time power grid digital simulator offered at very low entry-level prices.
