FREMONT, Calif., Jan. 4, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Digital Power Corporation (NYSE Amex: DPW) announces that the company has been selected to provide a high-grade, open-frame power solution for a state-of-the-art communications platform.

The customer, a leader in the global telecommunications sector, provides network infrastructure products and backhaul solutions for advanced wireless systems.

The customer's advanced communications platform requires high-grade continuous power, regardless of the power source. Digital Power's custom solution for this customer is based on its eFO series, an open-frame AC/DC and DC/DC switcher that delivers 300 W to 500 W of continuous power with built-in active Power Factor Correction (PFC). The solution's N+1 configuration provides active redundancy operation critical to the telecommunications sector.
