NEW YORK, May 16, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Ziff Davis is pleased to announce the appointment of Mike Finnerty to the newly created role of General Manager, Ziff Davis Tech and Commerce (ZDTC). In this role, Finnerty will oversee technology sites such as PCMag.com, Geek.com and Extremetech.com, as well as commerce destinations, such as Offers.com and Techbargains.com. Finnerty will lead ZDTC's multifunctional and geographically-dispersed team of over 200 people and be based at Ziff Davis's global headquarters in New York City.
A digital media executive, Finnerty has led large scale online consumer destinations across desktop, mobile web and apps. He most recently served as Senior Vice President of Global Strategy and Development at The Weather Company, an IBM business, where he drove the global growth strategy, new business development and distribution partnerships. Prior to this role, Mike was the Vice President/GM of weather.com, leading a global product organization reaching over 100M monthly active users.
Before joining The Weather Company, Finnerty worked for Comcast Interactive Media, where he was a founding team member of the division and responsible for the management of Comcast's consumer portal, product development, ad sales and monetization strategies, partnership and business development negotiations, and M&A evaluations.
