Digital Management, Inc., (DMI), Wins Major Contract to Provide and Manage IT Service Desk and Domestic Desktop Support to the U.S. Department of State (DOS)
Company to Service 30 Bureaus, Providing the Information Technology Support DOS Needs to Carry Out Its Mission
BETHESDA, Md., Aug. 23, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Digital Management, Inc., (DMI), a leading IT solutions and business strategy consulting firm, today announced that it has been awarded a major contract to provide and manage IT service desk and domestic desktop support to the U.S. Department of State (DOS). The Bureau of Information Resource Management provides the information technology and services the Department needs to successfully carry out its foreign policy mission.
The contract award is made as part of the Department's "Vanguard" IT enterprise strategy to practice 21st century statecraft—relying on partnerships, cross-cutting solutions, and harnessing the power of technology to drive progress.
Under the contract, DMI will provide desktop support services to users in 30 separate Bureaus that include approximately 17,000 unclassified and 9,000 classified desktop computers and their office automation products, email for all consolidated domestic users, common network infrastructure supporting desktop operations, and a consolidated IT Help Desk that provides domestic tier 1 and tier 2 support and worldwide tier 1 support.
Areas of user support include: program management assistance; technology refresh; domestic desktop patch management; enterprise tool deployment, maintenance and upgrades; security; configuration and asset management; disaster recovery; and special projects.
