Digital Forensics Expert, Rob Lee, to Keynote SANS Institute's Information Security Training Event in Fort Lauderdale
Keynote Address to Spotlight Hunting Adversaries
BETHESDA, Md., Sept. 15, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- SANS Institute, the global leader in information security training, today announced Rob Lee, Fellow and Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR) Lead at SANS, will keynote SANS South Florida 2015 taking place in Fort Lauderdale November 9 – 14. Lee will discuss the rise of incident response hunt teams and why they are quickly becoming a dedicated and necessary component to most modern security operations centers (SOCs).
"Hunting is about taking a proactive approach to identifying incidents. Because many organizations are not detecting incidents early enough, they are moving beyond a reactive only approach to include hunting. However, when creating a hunting team, organizations often fail to see the importance of proper threat intelligence for driving the search in the right areas," commented Lee. "Join me as I share tips for creating effective teams and detail how organizations can best leverage incident response hunt teams."
SANS South Florida will offer hands-on immersion-style training for InfoSec professionals at all levels. The event will feature three of SANS' most popular digital forensic courses FOR508: Advanced Digital Forensics and Incident Response, FOR572: Advanced Network Forensics and Analysis, and FOR585: Advanced Smartphone Forensics. Also offered at SANS South Florida is the newly updated SEC542: Web App Penetration Testing and Ethical Hacking course.
