Digital Disaster Preparedness for Pets that Fits in Your Wallet
A "must-have" for any disaster preparedness toolkit, this new smartphone-compatible identification card and key chain accessory links to a free, Facebook-like profile for dogs, cats and other pets, providing easy updates, GPS mapping, instant alerts, medical information, and unlimited emergency contacts
SEATTLE & WENATCHEE, Wash., Nov. 2, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- PetHub.com, the world's fastest way to get lost animals home again, today announced its new digital WalletCard™ product. The physical card links to an animal's free on-line profile at PetHub.com and is carried in an animal caretaker's wallet and affixed to their key chain. "The WalletCard is an ID card for animal caretakers to put in their wallets and on their key chains to alert police and medical workers that an animal may be at the person's home needing additional care," said Tom Arnold, Founder of Pet Hub, Inc. "It's a critical addition to any disaster preparedness toolkit," he noted. When the card is used by a first responder, any emergency contact associated with the animal's profile is notified that something important is happening. "While first responders are hurrying to get you to the next level of medical care, your pet's emergency network is responding to help your pet," concluded Arnold.
Product description:
The WalletCard™ is comprised of two pieces: a credit card-sized plastic insert and a smaller card that can be affixed to a key chain. Both cards have a unique ID, web address and QR code that all point to an animal's online profile at PetHub.com. PetHub's 24-hour phone number is also included that connects to a real human in its U.S. call center to help alert a friends & family network that the four-legged family member may need additional assistance in the event its guardian is incapacitated in some way. (MSRP: $4.95)
Free Service:
The free online profile hosted at PetHub.com allows the guardian to put a photo and description of the animal that is digitally linked to the card. In addition, the profile may also contain veterinarian records, unlimited emergency contact information, license and rabies tag numbers, vaccination dates, behavioral issues, and much, much more. The pet's information is safely accessed through an encrypted connection.
Optional Premium Features:
An optional Premium service is available for $3 per month that allows the emergency contacts to receive: 1) instant alerts when the animal's profile is viewed via the WalletCard, 2) a GPS location of the person who is securely accessing the pet's critical data, 3) an interactive Google® map providing turn-by-turn directions to get to the rescuer's location, and, 4) an "Amber Alert" style capability allowing the account owner to notify shelters within a 50-mile radius of where the animal was seen last in the event of escape (sharing a link to the animal's profile so that the shelters have access to the latest information about that animal).
Co-Branding Options:
The new WalletCard™ also has the option for large retailers, shelters, veterinarians, and other pet service providers to incorporate their logos and messaging onto this life-saving product and service.
