NEW YORK, Jan. 31, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Ernst & Young LLP (EY) announced that Citizen, a strategic digital design firm based in Portland, Oregon, has joined EY. The incoming team will complement the EY U.S. consulting business, particularly in customer experience and design, as well as expand the company's West Coast digital consulting presence.
Citizen is well-regarded as a strategic innovation, design and digital consultancy that helps companies envision and create opportunities that improve business function and customer experience. These strengths will enhance EY's existing capabilities across several areas, including strategy, digital transformation, cybersecurity, analytics, virtual and augmented reality, and technology solutions.
"At EY, we believe that a better working world means addressing complex digital strategy and execution issues to deliver outcomes that grow, innovate and protect our clients' businesses," said Kris Pederson, head of Strategy & Customer, Americas for EY Advisory. "Our union with Citizen will enable our client teams to deliver more cutting-edge solutions so they can navigate the transformative age with courage and confidence, and with a stronger digital toolset."
"We share EY's dedication to quality and strong client service," said Jenny Moede, Executive Director, formerly CEO of Citizen. "Our team is fearless when facing complex business challenges; we design user-focused digital experiences that drive positive change for our clients and their customers. This approach mirrors the EY purpose of building a better working world. Citizen and EY are a great match, we are complementary organizations with shared values and a strong, aligned, strategic view of the future."
Citizen's Portland headquarters will leverage the state-of-the-art EY wavespace™ network to convene clients and thought leaders and facilitate collaboration. The EY wavespace global growth and innovation network brings together multi-disciplinary talents, unique capabilities and IP, in collaborative, interactive working environments. The network focuses on disruptive growth, improvement strategies and technologies that impact specific industries.
The Citizen team also bolsters EY's ongoing investment in the West Coast consulting marketplace. In 2016, EY expanded its West Coast presence by joining forces with Seattle-based Society Consulting, an analytics and big data consultancy.
"Part of thriving in the transformative age requires being better connected," noted Fran Exley, Customer and Digital Experience Lead, Americas for EY Advisory. "By teaming up with Citizen, we connect the world class technical talent on the West Coast with the creativity and experience of our entire organization, empowering our clients' innovation agenda and their large scale digital transformation."
