Digital Defense CEO Hurtado Selected as Participant in United States Air War College 60th National Security Forum
SAN ANTONIO, May 21, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Digital Defense, Inc. (DDI) President & CEO Larry Hurtado was a recent participant in the prestigious National Security Forum (NSF) hosted by the United States Air War College and sponsored by the Secretary of the Air Force. The event, held annually at the Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama, convenes 120 civilian distinguished visitors to share perspectives between key civic leaders, senior military officers and highly experienced government civilians on current and future topics pertaining to strategic leadership, strategy, national security and decision making, war fighting and global security.
The theme of this year's event, "The Rebalance Towards the Asia-Pacific Region and Beyond: Implications for U.S. Grand Strategy," included lectures and seminar discussions representing a wide range of viewpoints on current national security strategy and national military strategy topics to include the role of airpower. In addition, sessions surrounding the current landscape of high priority security challenges for government and businesses covered a variety of topics at the core of national security.
"I was pleased to be among a group of nationally respected leaders selected to participate in the NSF Forum," stated Hurtado. "As a leader of a security risk assessment firm serving clients across the globe, my perspective and contributions to the discussions represented the concerns and insights our clients face daily and are deemed essential to building a culture of security within organizations of all sizes. Based in San Antonio, we have the unique opportunity to be a part of a cyber security hub that cultivates collaboration between government, industry and education to address exactly the types of issues that were examined at the Forum."
The NSF began in 1954 as an expansion of the Civilian Outreach Seminars held from 1947 through 1949. The purpose of the NSF is to expose influential citizens to senior U.S. and international officers and civilian equivalents in order to engage each other's ideas and perspectives on Air Force, national and international security issues.
