Diebold Solutions Streamline Regulatory Compliance for Community Trust Bank
ATM upgrades, integrated services to address new regulations as bank celebrates 100-year anniversary
Diebold is helping Community Trust Bank achieve compliance with new financial industry regulations via an ATM fleet upgrade and comprehensive outsourcing agreement
NORTH CANTON, Ohio, Aug. 11, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- As Community Trust Bank prepares to celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2012, the financial institution is updating its automated teller machine (ATM) fleet and outsourcing various financial services to ensure compliance and improve consumer experiences at the ATM. Diebold, Incorporated (NYSE: DBD) will help the bank better manage, monitor and secure its ATM fleet by providing multiple solutions from its integrated services portfolio. In addition, Diebold will revamp Community Trust Bank's 53 ATMs to enhance the institution's century-old presence in the southern United States.

"Community Trust Bank works with Diebold at all of our locations, and we have high confidence in the company's abilities on both the ATM and non-ATM sides of our business," said Lonnie Scarborough, executive vice president, chief retail officer, Community Trust Bank. "When the time came to consider outsourcing services, there was really no question about who we were going to select."
With headquarters in northern Louisiana, Community Trust Bank operates 29 banking centers in north Louisiana, north Texas and north and central Mississippi. Faced with new Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Payment Card Industry (PCI) regulations, the bank realized it was time to upgrade its ATM fleet. As a result, Diebold is replacing 25 of Community Trust Bank's ATMs with new Diebold Opteva® terminals and upgrading the institution's other 28 ATMs. These improvements provide ADA-compliant functionalities, including voice guidance, accessibility and privacy features, to the bank's entire fleet.
The new ATM regulations also prompted Community Trust Bank to outsource several professional services to Diebold, including alarm monitoring and maintenance services. These outsourced services will take pressure off of bank employees, while maintaining uptime and ensuring compliance for the bank's self-service channel. For example, Diebold's ATM Journal Office software provides Community Trust Bank with efficient Web-based access to ATM journal data to track usage trends, transaction inquiries and compliance-related information.
As part of the Diebold Integrated Services® engagement, Community Trust Bank will utilize Diebold's Agilis® Campaign Office software to push marketing content to its ATM fleet. The software enables the bank to remotely manage custom ATM screen updates, providing the ability to develop unique content based on the ATM location and even the user.
"Via its ATM upgrades, outsourcing agreement, content management system implementation and more, Community Trust Bank is demonstrating its commitment to providing the latest self-service banking technologies to its customers," said Charles E. Ducey, Jr., executive vice president, North America operations, Diebold.
In addition, Community Trust Bank and Diebold are currently testing deposit automation technology for future implementation into the bank's ATM fleet. The technology, which enables customers to complete envelope-free cash and check deposits, provides the potential for added customer convenience at the ATM, as well as enhanced operational efficiencies for the bank.
