The ATM upgrades are a key part of the modernization process that Banco Santander is undertaking with its ATM network. The Diebold ATMs that will be implemented as part of the agreement include the Opteva® 760, 720, 562 and 522 models.
Opteva ATMs help financial institutions provide a level of service closer to a branch experience by enabling additional functionality including deposit automation, advertising and other advanced banking transactions, such as printing on passbooks to record consumers' transactions.
"Banco Santander chose Diebold for this project not only because of the quality of our solutions, but because of our Spanish organization's ability to deliver service according to the quality requirements of the bank—to guarantee the needed availability level, which is so critical in the self-service environment," said Dave Wetzel, vice president and managing director, Diebold EMEA region.
Banco Santander and Diebold are also currently working together in other countries such as Mexico, Brazil and the United States. This most recent agreement helps further position Diebold as a key partner for Banco Santander in enhancing its ATM channel, not only in Spain, but around the world.
"Diebold's partnership with Banco Santander in Spain is a significant example of our commitment to the region, and we are pleased to support Banco Santander in its efforts to modernize and update its ATM network," Wetzel said. "Spain is a strategic market for Diebold, and we look forward to continue building and strengthening business relationships in this region."
