NORTH CANTON, Ohio, May 17, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Diebold, Incorporated (NYSE: DBD) today announced two key appointments on its corporate leadership team. The company has promoted Timothy J. McDannold to vice president, global business services. Additionally, Diebold named M. Scott Hunter vice president, treasurer and chief tax officer.

In his new role, McDannold will be responsible for defining Diebold's global business services strategy and developing and managing an infrastructure to drive business transformation, process improvement, enhance service levels, further reduce cost and improve controls.
"As a new business unit for Diebold, the global business services organization will serve a critical role in our efforts to streamline our global financial business processes," said Thomas W. Swidarski, Diebold president and chief executive officer.
Hunter will now be responsible for leading and overseeing Diebold's global treasury operations. He will also retain oversight of the company's global tax function, including U.S. domestic, U.S. international and local country direct and indirect taxes.

McDannold most recently served as vice president and treasurer for Diebold. McDannold joined Diebold in 1988 as a financial analyst. Prior to joining Diebold, McDannold was a senior auditor for Ernst & Young.
A native of Canton, Ohio, McDannold holds a bachelor's degree in business administration and accounting from Kent State University in Kent, Ohio. He earned a quality instructor certificate from the Juran Institute in Southbury, Conn., and is a certified public accountant (CPA). McDannold was named one of the 100 most influential people in finance in 2010 by Treasury & Risk magazine, and holds membership in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Ohio Society of CPAs, Association for Financial Professionals, Northeast Ohio Treasury Management Association and The NeuGroup. He is the past president of the International Management Council. McDannold is active in Boy Scouts of America and United Way of Greater Stark County.
Hunter most recently served as vice president and chief tax officer at Diebold. Prior to that, Hunter served as corporate tax director and vice president of tax for Diebold. Before joining Diebold, Hunter was partner and managing director of KPMG's international tax practice in Santiago, Chile. He also held a variety of other leadership positions in tax and operations at Itron Inc., and Beckman Coulter Corporation.
Hunter is a native of Ojai, Calif. He holds bachelor's degrees in accounting and Spanish translation and a master's degree in accounting/tax from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. Hunter is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Tax Executives Institute (TEI) and the Manufacturer's Alliance (MAPI) Tax Council. Hunter is also a member of the Stark Development Board executive committee, and has held various leadership positions with Boy Scouts of America.
