Diebold Names Emerson to Lead Asia Pacific Operations

NORTH CANTON, Ohio, Feb. 11, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Diebold, Incorporated (NYSE: DBD) today announced that Neil Emerson has been appointed senior vice president and managing director of the company's Asia Pacific division, effective February 17.  In this role, Emerson will lead the company's operations throughout the region. During his career at several high-tech and service oriented companies, Emerson has delivered substantial results in the Asia Pacific market – demonstrating his ability as a strong change leader to launch and sustain growth, enhance delivery performance, ensure client satisfaction and solidify his organization's market position in international, multi-country territories.

Emerson comes to Diebold from TMF Group, a worldwide professional services organization that aids companies in global investments and expansion, where he most recently served as chief executive officer for operations in its Asia Pacific and East Africa region. In this role, he significantly increased business growth and profitability of the region across all lines of business, in addition to improving delivery performance and enhancing client satisfaction.

Emerson's career also includes regional leadership roles with HP Asia Pacific, and IBM Australia and Asia Pacific. While at HP, he served three years as vice president and managing director for Enterprise Services in Asia. Emerson will report to George S. Mayes, Diebold executive vice president and chief operating officer, and currently resides in Singapore.

A native of Melbourne, Australia, Emerson earned a degree in electronic engineering from Monash University, in Melbourne, Australia.
