Diebold Appoints Chen Executive Vice President, International Operations

NORTH CANTON, Ohio, Feb. 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Diebold, Incorporated (NYSE: DBD) today announced James Chen has been promoted to executive vice president of international operations.  In his expanded role, Chen will oversee all aspects of the company's operations in the Asia Pacific, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Latin America regions, including joint ventures, distribution channels, service operations, subsidiaries and distributors.

Chen most recently served as senior vice president of Asia Pacific and EMEA for Diebold.  He joined Diebold in 1998 as corporate vice president and managing director, Asia Pacific.

Before joining Diebold, Chen served as general manager, business electronics at Philips Electronics China in Beijing.  He also spent 14 years with NCR in a variety of management positions in the Asia Pacific region, including managing director of NCR's Chinese subsidiary.  He received a bachelor's degree in business administration from the National Chengchi University in Taipei, Taiwan.
