PITTSBURGH, Oct. 18, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- DICK'S Sporting Goods, the largest U.S. based full-line sporting goods retailer, today announced its first-ever Winter Coat Trade-In Event. Customers are encouraged to bring their gently-worn winter coats into a DICK'S Sporting Goods store from Sun., Oct. 21 through Sat., Oct. 27. Donated coats will then be distributed in the U.S. to those in need through a partnership with World Vision.

"As cold weather is fast approaching, DICK'S Sporting Goods is encouraging customers to donate a gently-worn coat at their local DICK'S locations so we can help children and families stay warm during the upcoming winter season," said Lauren Hobart, Chief Marketing Officer at DICK'S Sporting Goods.
During this week-long event, customers who donate a gently-worn winter coat and purchase a new coat at DICK'S for $90 or more will receive a $20 off coupon for a future purchase, redeemable from Oct. 29 through Nov. 17.
World Vision, which will distribute the donated coats through their U.S. Programs in Seattle, Dallas, Chicago and New York, serves nearly 100 million people each year globally, 2.2 million in the U.S.
