DICK'S Sporting Goods Announces Three-Day Grand Opening Celebration in Houston, Texas

PITTSBURGH, Oct. 3, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- DICK'S Sporting Goods (NYSE: DKS), the largest U.S.-based, full-line omni-channel sporting goods retailer, will open its first stores in the Houston area with a three-day celebration starting Friday, October 21. 

The new locations at the Baybrook Mall, Deerbrook Mall, The Shoppes at Parkwest in Katy, First Colony Mall in Sugarland, Willowbrook Mall and Woodlands Mall will be the first in the market. In addition to the six new DICK'S locations, the retailer will also open its first two Field & Stream stores and two new Golf Galaxy stores as well. Field & Stream and Golf Galaxy are specialty shops owned and operated by DICK'S Sporting Goods.

Grand opening celebrations for the new DICK'S, Field & Stream and Golf Galaxy stores will run through Sunday, October 23. The stores at each location will open at 8:00 a.m. on Friday (10/21) and Saturday (10/22) and 9:00 a.m. on Sunday (10/23).

The Baybrook and Katy locations will feature DICK'S Sporting Goods, Field & Stream and Golf Galaxy stores all housed under the same roof. These unique shopping destinations will offer the convenience of being able to purchase all sporting goods, outdoor and golf needs in one location and are the first of their kind in the country.

Field & Stream's newest brand ambassador Country music superstar Jason Aldean* will be part of the Grand Opening celebrations. Customers who are in line early at the new Field & Stream locations at Baybrook Mall and The Shoppes at Parkwest in Katy on the morning of Saturday, October 22 will have a chance to receive a VIP pass to meet Aldean later that day.

Other special guests include five-time Olympian Kerri Walsh Jennings**, Baseball legend Roger Clemens***, Houston linebacker Brian Cushing**, on-course golf reporter David Feherty**, Stars of A&E's Duck Dynasty^® Phil Robertson** and Si Robertson** and former Houston Guard/Forward Clyde Drexler**.

Customers will have the chance to experience exclusive brands offered by DICK'S Sporting Goods including its women's athleisure line CALIA by Carrie Underwood, outdoor brand Field & Stream and golf apparel line Walter Hagen, among many others. Over 200 Grand Opening weekend deals and promotions will be offered by the retailer, with additional details to be announced at a later date, including the retailer's price-matching guarantee through its "Best Price Promise."

Additionally, more than 70 brand partners of DICK'S Sporting Goods will participate in the Grand Opening celebrations through on-site activations or prize giveaways including adidas, Gatorade, Yeti, Nike, Nishiki, The North Face, Under Armour, Hydroflask and many more.           

Customers can sign up for the ScoreCard Reward program to Earn 3% Back in Rewards for their purchases at all DICK'S, Field & Stream and Golf Galaxy locations as well as online.  Customers that are 18 years of age and older can apply for the Rewards of Sport Credit Card and Earn 6% Back in Rewards on in-store purchases.

Also available is the DICK'S Sporting Goods mobile app, which can help customers track their reward points, or earn additional reward points by connecting to one of many fitness tracking devices that are compatible with the app.
