Dickey's Barbecue to Hold Fundraiser Benefitting Joplin Relief Efforts
Local Owner/Operator Dedicates 25 Percent of Proceeds to Tornado Relief Efforts
TULSA, Okla., May 26, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Dickey's Barbecue Pit in Tulsa will hold a fundraiser benefitting Red Cross Relief tornado relief efforts in Joplin on Sunday, May 29.
"I have family in the area, as I'm sure many in Tulsa do and it's important that we support Joplin in the wake of this devastation," said Mark Woeppel, the franchise owner and operator.
Dickey's Barbecue Pit is located at 6044 S. Yale, Tulsa, in the Kings Pointe Shopping Center at the northwest corner of 61st and South Yale.
"Hopefully this will not only raise a strong donation, but bring awareness to an area that needs our attention," Woeppel said.
Kids eat free every Sunday and there will be complimentary ice cream and pickles for all customers and 25 percent of proceeds on May 29 will go to the relief efforts in Joplin.
Texas-based Dickey's Barbecue Pit asks all Dickey's Owner/ operators to find ways to be good stewards in their surrounding communities.
