America's Fastest Growing Barbecue Chain Honored With First Pitch at Rangers Game
ARLINGTON, Texas, April 19, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Roland Dickey Jr. of Dickey's Barbecue Pit will throw the first pitch at the Texas Rangers vs. Toronto Blue Jays baseball game on April 25.
This is the first series game between the Rangers and the Blue Jays and will be held in Arlington at Rangers Park on Monday, April 25th at 7:05 p.m.
"I am honored to be a part of the Texas Rangers game," Dickey's Barbecue Restaurants, Inc. CEO Roland Dickey Jr. said. "This is a great opportunity to support our team, the Texas Rangers, and to bring the entire family out for an exciting and fun evening of baseball."
Celebrating its 70th anniversary this year, Dickey's Barbecue Pit was founded in Dallas in 1941 and is a prominent fixture on the Dallas restaurant scene.
The original location remains open for business.
Dickey's Barbecue is still owned and operated by the Dickey Family.
"The Rangers are our team and it's important for Dickey's Barbecue to support this American tradition. As we expand and move into new communities across the country every month, we never forget where it all began," Roland Dickey Jr. said. "We want our Owner/Operators to take the value of community partnership along with great barbecue to their neighbors and friends."
This is the first time for Roland to throw the opening pitch at a Rangers game.
Dickey's Barbecue Pit began franchising in 1994, the same year the Rangers began playing at Rangers ballpark, and now has 147 locations in 33 states.
Every Dickey's restaurant still slow smokes all of their signature meats overnight.
