Dickey's Barbecue Pit Set to Open in San Ramon

SAN RAMON, Calif., Aug. 5, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Joseph and Amy Meadows will open their first Dickey's Barbecue Pit, the largest quick-serve barbecue chain in the country, in San Ramon, California.

"I am originally from Texas and know the Dickey's brand well. I took Amy to Dickey's for the first time a few months ago and we agreed that this was a worthwhile investment. The food was delicious and it was something that was missing from the San Ramon area. Amy attended culinary school and both of us have worked in restaurants for years (earlier in our lives)," said Joseph, who will run the restaurant with his wife.

Dickey's Barbecue is experiencing a rapid expansion nationally, but California is particularly receptive to the franchise.

"We love the accessibility of Dickey's Barbecue. To be able to get quality barbecue at a reasonable price is what we love. You could each lunch every day at Dickey's and never break the bank. And the fact that Dickey's has been around for all these years is something that we love, it's family-owned and grown from the ground up!" said Amy Meadows, co-owner/operator of this new California location.

This is the first franchise opportunity for the couple.

Since early 2011, Dickey's has opened 15 stores nationwide and 70 are set to open before the end of 2011.

The original Dallas location is still open for business and Dickey's Barbecue Pit is still owned and operated by the Dickey Family.

There are 164 locations in 38 states.
