Dickey's Barbecue Pit Promotes Employment Growth
Family-Owned Restaurant Seeks to Build Employment Force in Struggling Communities
DALLAS, June 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- In the past 8 months, Dickey's Barbecue Pit launched 34 new stores in cities across the country, fueling employment growth in each community.
"The current locations allow Dickey's Barbecue Pit the resources to bring employment opportunities to struggling communities. With each new franchise that opens we bring dozens of jobs and, while unemployment numbers remain at historic levels, we are looking to expand these efforts. As our franchise expands from coast to coast, we are constantly looking to employ people locally," President of Dickey's Barbecue Restaurants, Inc. Roland Dickey, Jr. said.
With the developing need for real estate brokers, construction workers and consultants, employment opportunities begin before the restaurant even opens.
"We strive to make a difference in each community and are constantly looking for ways to do so," said Richard Phillips, Director of Franchise Development for DBRI. "Our key locations recently are Minneapolis, Houston, Atlanta and DFW, where it all began."
Recently, Dickey's Barbecue Pit began encouraging a conversion style concept, which takes existing structures and modifies them to fit the Dickey's style.
Dickey's Barbecue Pit is still owned and operated by the Dickey Family.
The original Dallas location is still open for business.
There are 148 locations in 35 states.
