Dickey's Barbecue Pit Opens First Location In North Dakota

FARGO, N.D., Sept. 15, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Dickey's Barbecue Restaurants, Inc. expands in the north, opening its first location in North Dakota at 3402 13th Avenue in Fargo.

"Dickey's is a novel concept with quick-serve, quality barbecue," said the local franchisee Brent Blake. "There's nothing like it in the area, so it was the perfect choice."

The location was previously a Starbucks, allowing DBRI to minimize the overall construction costs and focus on the training of employees and quality of food production.

"We are excited to open the doors to Dickey's Barbecue in Fargo. It's a great community and I look forward to interacting with the customers on a daily basis," said Blake.

The restaurant remains anchored in Texas, where the first location opened in 1941.

Dickey's holds a 46 percent growth rate with a goal of 200 stores by the year's end and there are currently 173 locations in 35 states.
