Dickey's Barbecue Pit Closes in on Kyle Location
America's Fastest-Growing Barbecue Chain Strengthens Presence in Texas
KYLE, Texas, Sept. 21, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Dickey's Barbecue Pit will open next month in Kyle under the direction of a father-son team, Don Leggitt, Jr. and Don Leggitt III, just in time to celebrate Dickey's 70th anniversary.
"Dickey's is a quality and time-tested product that we thought would serve the local community proudly," said Leggitt, Jr. "The reception so far has been positive. Kyle is very excited for more dining options and Dickey's will provide them with a superior choice!"
This is the only Dickey's location in Kyle and will open at 5695 Kyle Parkway.
The father first came across Dickey's Barbecue Pit in the DFW Airport. "It's my favorite airport DFW eatery while traveling for business. I'm always impressed by the consistency and comfort that Dickey's brings to its customer," he said.
The restaurant remains anchored in Texas and celebrates its 70th anniversary on October 18, with $1 sandwiches and drinks and a national barbecue eating contest at the original restaurant.
"We are excited about developing the Kyle location. They are great franchisees who are also planning a location in San Marcos. I'm excited to welcome the Leggitts into the Dickey family," said Roland Dickey Jr., president of Dickey's Barbecue Restaurants, Inc.
There are 174 locations in 35 states, and DBRI holds a 46 percent growth rate with a goal of 200 stores by the year's end.
Dickey's Barbecue offers a quality selection of signature meats, home style sides and tangy barbecue sauce.
